Attack them first! It'll be the last thing they expect

Reinforce the lines, secure the flanks, let 'em come. We're prepared

Retreat to fight another day. Maybe wear them down a bit first, but the strategic location isn't worth the potential losses

Hold their best troops at the center while your elites slam into their weaker flanks. Encircle the enemy

Learn as much as you can about the enemy's plans and develop a counter-strategy. Leverage your tactical strengths against theirs. Your sub-commanders can figure out the tactics

Find the weakest point in their line, make a breakthrough, and then beeline for important strategic locations. You'll win the war in a month!

Create discord in their forces, sneaking troops behind their lines, harassing their units, and whittling down their support. Then, attack when they're weak

Bite and hold. Create a strong frontline and slowly advance into their territory. It'll take a while, but it's low-risk

Force the enemy into a decisive battle and defeat them there.

Destroy their capacity to wage war. Cut supply lines, destroy factories, and build up your own forces. Then lure them into an ambush (or several) and defeat the now-depleted enemy army.

Stop temporarily, consolidate our forces, and raid the enemy for supplies and information

Press the attack. They've almost broke!

Play up a big attack and then retreat under the cover of darkness, laying traps in your now-abandoned camps. Let the enemy counterattack and spread out before you surprise them

Pull back and re-fortify your lines. It's not worth it.

Figure out what the enemy is trying next. If they plan to counterattack, pull out. If they're in chaos, keep going. Probe their units for supplies and information and try to lure them into a trap.

Harass their forces as much as possible. Raid their supply lines, force them to pay for every town in litres of blood, and generally make their lives hell. Force them to stick to the roads and limit their options

Hold them while you consolidate your best forces at their weakest point. Then, counterattack

Force them into a series of battles, then cut them off, encircle, and destroy them

Retake and/or hold any key strategic objectives you can. Then fortify your lines and gather intel on their operations to decide your next move

Pull your forces back, concentrating them as much as possible. Hold important locations and choke points. Force them to come to you

Probe the enemy for weaknesses and to hit their supplies and morale

Stay put, reinforce, and wait them out

Find a weak point and attack. You can't let them build up!

Call for a meeting with the enemy commander. Perhaps now is the time for peace?

Leave a skeleton crew in the defensive positions and quietly use your main forces to attempt to harass their flanks. Make their lives miserable!

Take the hill! Maybe this will turn the tide of battle

Send a small recon force to take the hill. It'll give you a vantage point, and if it's a trap, well you can sacrifice a few skirmishers.

Slowly work your way towards the hill. If it's a trap, you'll have a solid defense if they attack it

Send an elite force to take the hill, reinforce it, and harass the enemy. Wear them down if they attack, and leave traps before retreating

Use it to cover the movements of your skirmishers as they flank around the enemy lines. If the enemy has the same idea, make sure they can't take the hill.

More infantry. With these you'll be able to extend or reinforce your defenses

More supplies. If it comes to a battle of attrition, you'll be the victor

An armored division with mechanized infantry in support. This will punch a hole in the enemy lines!

A unit of paratroopers. Raid the enemy supply lines and find out what they're planning

Assassins, spies, and recon units. Cause chaos amongst the enemy

My ability to do the unexpected and seemingly impossible. They never know what I'm up to, but I always seem to know their plans

My stealthiness. I am a shadow which seems to come out of nowhere, wreaking havoc in the enemy lines before disappearing into the ether

My aggression and tactical genius. The enemy sees me right behind them whenever they turn around. I cannot be stopped!

My invulnerability. No matter what they throw at me, I remain on the battlefield
