There are other nomenclatures - like “tiger parenting” or “helicopter parenting” - but they still fall into these categories. All parents want what’s best for their kids, but some parenting methods are more beneficial than others, and sometimes parents think they are doing the right thing but it’s the opposite. I enjoy sharing pictures of my well-dressed children so people acknowledge my great fashion sense.

I love to share videos of me pranking my children and of them making foolishness around the house.

I love to brag about my children accomplishments on the social media! Everyone needs to know how special and unique they are!

I’m against it because it’s dangerous due to pedophiles and kidnappers. Also, my children can’t consent to have their privacy exposed because they are too young to understand the concept.
6/20 You are at the park with your children. What do you while the kids play?

I’m playing with them to make sure they don’t get hurt and reinforcing how they must follow the rules.

Talking on the phone with my friends or checking my Facebook.

I allow the children to explore at will but keep watching from a safe distance to make sure no one strange approaches them.

Other people (grandparents, aunts, etc.) take my children to the park.
7/20 What’s your reaction when your children are throwing tantrums?

Just give them a i-Pad or something for them to be quiet.

I threaten to beat them if they don’t stop it at once.

Try to calm them down by asking what’s wrong. Then I explain to my children there are healthier ways to express their emotions.

Let them. Kids do that sort of thing.
8/20 You just bought this pricey jacket for your toddler but he refuses to wear it. How do you react?

If my toddler doesn’t like the jacket, he doesn’t have to wear it

I explain why he must wear the jacket and the importance of money

I force him to wear it and if he talks back I’ll slap him

I won’t be buying him another jacket anytime soon so he’ll have to use the one he got
9/20 You are going to take your toddler to the doctor and he doesn’t stop crying. What’s your reaction?

I assure him everything's okay and explain the importance of doctors and health care

I don’t believe in doctors, they all work for the Big Pharma! I only use herbs and oils from my homeopath.

You yell: “If you don't stop crying I'll give you something to cry about!”

I call my mother and ask her what to do about it.
10/20 Your child is turning 10 years old. What will you give him for his birthday?

I don’t need to buy him anything. My parents and in laws already shower him with gifts!

I’ll throw an expensive themed party and buy him whatever is cool at the moment.

He has proven himself responsible and capable so I’m gifting him a copy of the keys to the house.

He’s only getting a birthday gift if he gets the best grades of his year!

No: because their emotional needs are met.

Yes: my children are constantly throwing tantrums just to get my attention.

No: because they know they’ll suffer the consequences!

Yes: but I find it funny. Just kids doing their thing.

No allowance. If my children want to buy something they have to ask me first.

I’ll allow them a suitable monthly allowance for them to understand the importance of saving.

I already pay for their every expense. They don’t need more money.

On special occasions: birthday, Christmas, if he gets good grades at the end of the school year…

Every time he wants

My partner has no say in how to raise the children. I know best.

Spank him and ground him.

You sit down with your child and ask him why. Then you explain why what he did was wrong and he has to be grounded as a consequence of his actions.

He’s just a kid! We all make mistakes.

No: They have to stay focus on their extracurricular activities!

Yes: Nature and sports are good for their health, and we often play with them.

No: my kids rather stay indoors and play videogames or watch TV.
